About FindrFleet

We build the tracking we
wished existed when we were running fleets.

FindrFleet was started by people who lost a jet ski once, found it nine hours later, and decided 60-second consumer GPS trackers weren't the right tool for the job. Today we ship hardware and software to rental fleets, marinas, and recreational operators across the US and Canada.

The story

From one stolen jet ski to a fleet of trackers across two countries.

The story most fleet companies tell is too clean. Ours starts with a jet ski that left a marina at 10:14 AM on a Saturday in July 2022, was last seen on the operator's app at 10:13 AM, and reappeared at 7:38 PM after a long, expensive day involving the RCMP, two boat operators, and a lot of phone calls.

That jet ski had a 60-second GPS tracker on it. Working as designed. By the time the operator noticed it was gone, the position was 1.4 kilometres stale. By the time the next ping landed, the unit was on a trailer halfway down Highway 97.

We started FindrFleet because consumer trackers are built for finding your kid's bike, not for managing a fleet of $20,000 assets on the water. The hardware needed to be tougher. The software needed to think like an operator, not a consumer. The pings needed to be fast enough to actually dispatch on.

Today we ship to marinas on Lake Tahoe, ATV outfitters in the Texas hill country, motorhome rental operators across the Pacific Northwest, and dock operators from Penticton to the Florida Keys. The product is still designed around one question: what would have helped that operator on that Saturday?

How we work

Four principles. Everything else flows from these.

Operators first

We talk to fleet operators every week. The roadmap is shaped by what makes their Saturday morning easier, not what looks good on a spec sheet.

Hardware that survives

IP68. Shock-rated. Battery that lasts. Built in our Kelowna shop, tested on real lakes and real trails before it ships.

Real-time means real-time

10-second active pings. Not 60. Not "near real-time." If you can't dispatch on the data, the data isn't live.

Recovery, not surveillance

We build for theft recovery, rental ops, and insurance documentation. We are not a consumer-snooping product.

Timeline

A short history of the company.

  1. 2023

    First prototype

Built around an LTE-M dev board and a marine epoxy housing. Tested on Okanagan Lake by friends running rental jet skis.

  2. 2024

    First customers

Onboarded the first 3 marina operators in BC. Learned that ping rate matters more than feature surface.

  3. 2025

    Hardware revision 2

Moved to a fully sealed IP68 housing, 8000 mAh cell, wireless Qi charging, and multi-carrier eUICC SIMs.

  4. 2026

    US expansion

Shipping to operators across the US, Lake Tahoe, Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, Lake Champlain, Florida marinas, Texas ATV outfitters.
